2. In the redskins cartoon Obama is asking a native american if he is offended by the redskins name, to which he replies only the washington part. This is during the government shutdown so the native american is criticizing washington and its practices there is symbolism through the use of a newspaper.
In the obama care exchange cartoon the inability to sign up on the obama care website is symbolized as a brick wall.
In the halloween cartoon the NSA's spying is made fun of by a trick-or-treater dressed as a spy with NSA on thier coat. They have spy equipment and the person makes a comment on how they can still hear the other people, which is irony due to the NSA's questionable practices.
In the syria chemical weapons cartoon obama and putin try to catch assad, who is represented as a smelly skunk spraying chemicals, symbolic of syrian chemical weapon attacks.
The darth-obama cartoon is making fun of obama care's nullifying of other health care providers. due to obama care some cant keep thier current provider. A quote from star wars is used to poke fun at this subject.

1. I feel the tape test used in measuring the soldiers is inaccuate and faulty.
2. I feel that weight definitely affects whether a person is welcome or not.
3. I would come up with a better test for upcoming soldiers that was more accurate in judging thier abilities.

2. In reviewing a political cartoon the first step is to look at the cartoon and pick out the major points
    in the illistration. The next step is to pick out the main points by viewing the natural flow of the
    cartoon. The third step is one in which you should determine the audience, or who the cartoon
    is trying to address. Now you should try to understand the overall concept of the cartoon if you
    don't already. Next, look for recongnizable symbols like uncle sam or the president. Lastly,
    look for the smaller details which will help in conveying the humor and ideam of the cartoon.
3. The techniques used in political illustrations are designed to symbolize, exaggerate, convey irony,
    make an analogy, or to lable to make a statement on something.

1. I have to agree with most of what the author said in the article, however i think i care a little less about how much the confederate flag is shown/used.
2. Yes, most of the writer's opinion is backed up by fact.
3. I think most people still negatively associate the conferderate flag with slavery which causes some of the problems today.

Today i took test to figure out my political party. The majority of my results tell me im moderate or a centrist. This means i have rounded views on government and politics. I agree more with one party on certain issues, and another party on certain other issues. I think this result is fitting for me.

1. I dont believe the man should be allowed to carry out the lawsuit because i dont think hes actually hurt as severly as he says, after all he just shoved a boulder off a mountain.

2. I do believe the men should be charged with destruction of property because the rock they pushed had been there for years untouched ans was considered a monument.

1. Yes, I think they should be charged because they admitted to the bullying.
2. A misdeameanor is generally a less serious crime and punishment then what is involved in a felony.
3. I think more attention should be payed to social media in order to catch cyber-bullying in its early stages.

I think the janitor in this story has no common sense, but the students mother also seems to lack some sense. This could've been avoided if the janitor would've just reported the boy's remark.

1. I didn't think this story was fair at all, the states have to pay for their own re-openings. The government even said they must staff their parks if re-opened.

2. I would like to visit either the grand canyon or zion national park because they seem to have the most interesting terrain.

1. This shows that the state of our legislative branch is troubling, most American citizens basically find congress worthless.

2. To rectify the situation I would simply try to make congress better as a whole, and make some actual decisions toward the advancement of our country.

I disagree with the changing of the team name. I think that the name is being taken a little too seriously. I personally dont see reason to be offended by a football team's name. I don't see enough real meaning for it to be offensive. I think if the Redskins want to keep their name they should be able to, after all it's already been their name for years.

1. It reveals that we are still lacking in our national security, a child was able to make it all the way through airport security.
2. I am a little surprised that this could happen with all the heightened security, but not surprised something this bizzare could happen.
